The rumours of my death have been extremely exaggerated. Nope, I’m not gone yet. Sorry to ruin your day.
So what have I been up to? Well one of the things that has been taking up my time is softball. After playing on Memorial Day I realized how much I missed the diamond, and decided to play in a summer league on a team lead by some people from my church. Even though softball is basically the same as baseball, it’s still been a bit of an adjustment after having played baseball for 6 years. It’s slow-pitch, which may sound easy at first, but when you’re used to 80 mile-per-hour fastballs, like me, it can be a bit challenging at times to hit, and I’ve half had to re-learn how to hit in order to get the timing right. Also, with a ball that is twice as big, getting a good jump on those deep fly balls was tough at first. Still, I’m probably being a bit hard on myself; after all, it’s slo-pitch, and it’s a co-ed team, so it’s not exactly the peak of competitiveness. Even though it’s been pretty darn hot some nights, I’ve had a blast–it’s great to be back on the diamond. We haven’t won a game yet, but as they say: “It’s not if you win or lose, it’s how you play the game.”
Why am I even posting this anyway? It’s not like anyone actually reads this silly blog anyway, right? Hello? Is anyone listening? *sigh*

Jeez, I don’t remember the last time I was this tired and sore. Yesterday was our chuch’s annual Memorial Day Picnic at the park. I had a blast hanging out with people, eating some great food, and playing ultimate frisbee, softball, and basketball with my friends, and got more excercise than I’ve had in a very long time. Today I woke up exhausted and with sore muscles, even in places where I didn’t know I had muscles. Still, it’s a good kind of tired, the rewarding feeling of knowing that you played hard.
About two weeks ago my mom discovered a lump in her opposite underarm. She had a PET Scan on Wednesday at U.C.L.A to see if her breast cancer had returned. We got the results on Friday, and I’m happy to say that she is clean! Apparently the lump was just a swollen gland. Two-and-a-half cancer-free years and counting!

Well, it seems that MissingIntellect.Net is cursed. I actually go to make a post, and my site is down. Seemingly right after I finally bring it back online, the server it’s on goes down. It’s been weeks now, and there’s no sign of that server coming back up. Still, I refuse to let this site die. I got a hosting account with the great people over at Eggplant Farms. (I know one of the people there, and if you’re looking for some good, incredibly inexpensive hosting, I suggest you take a look at them.) Unfortunately, I do not have a copy of the database, so unless the old server comes back online, the posts I made are gone. Ironically, not having much content may actually be in my favor, since I haven’t lost a lot. I only lost two posts and the about page, and that was it. Despite the setbacks, I still haven’t given up on MissingIntellect.Net. It’s gonna take a lot more than this to make me give up.
