Well, the days of having to drive around in my mother’s mini-van are finally over. I’ve finally got my own car, a 2000 Honda Civic LX. Went down to La Crascenta and got he deal finalized and picked it upjust the other night. Considering it’s only got about 72000 miles, it was positively a steal for only $5,500–bluebook for it was $8,100! It’s got air conditioning, power windows and locks, and a CD player, the whole deal. Techincally it’s not mine–i.e. it’s not in my name–but I get to drive it. My parents are paying for it up front, and I’ll pay them back half later. Granted, it’s not brand-new, but it’s my first car, for goodness sake! It’s new to me, and that’s good enough as far as I’m concerned. It certainly beats having to work around my mom’s schedule for when I need to drive her car. If I really want that “new car smell” I can buy a can and spray it all over the interior.
Congrats…. I remember my first car, a classic Volvo Amazon from 1965… I summarily crashed it in a traffic light. Hope you have better luck

My first car was a 1973 Cherry Red Capri, bought used in 1977. Which was a cheaper version of the Mustang. 4 on the floor, and an 8-track in the glove compartment. I was flying high! The chicks dug it.
It was a 1985 Olds Calais in 1995… I was always getting pulled over b/c it looked like I ripped off somebody’s Grandma’s car… I wish you well. This may not mean much to you comming from an old dude, but you’ve got a lot going on, MI… You hang with all of us over at CotG and that not only makes you prety cool in my opinion, but I’m impressed that you give a damn to pay us any mind…

my 1st car was a 85 ford escort wagon. I wasnt the coolest car when i got it but i put a killer system in it some neon lights and it didnt look half bad. I wasnt a sports car but it had no problems keeping up to my friends 4 cyclinder mustangs and unlike there car i could fit 15 girls in it with me or corse the shocks didnt last long but it was worth it
